  • Meet your guide at Dolphins Coffee Shop either 08h30 or 13h00 depending on the tour booked.
    We will have a quick briefing before heading out of town passing the Walvis Bay Lagoon where an array of birdlife is showcased.

    A 15-minute drive on a salt road meanders between the salt pans of Walvis Bay and onto the beach venturing south towards the iconic Sandwich Harbour.

    If the tide is in our favour, we will take on the narrow corridor between the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib Sand Seas and turn right at the base of Sandwich Harbour’s lagoon. A protected, natural bird sanctuary and Ramsar site.

    The ride back takes you over the sand dunes, with unbelievable views along the way.

    You will be back in town after 4 hours.

Venture even further off the beaten track into the Concession area of the Namib Naukluft Park. Here lies the shipwreck of the Shawnee, a transport tug that ran aground under mysterious circumstances on the 6th of February 1976. Now wedged on a narrow stretch between surf and sand, it is home to jackals and various seabirds.
